Scripture teaches both God's demands for human life in his Law, and also the promise of salvation in the Gospel. Above all, the Bible bears witness to our risen Lord, Jesus Christ, who gave himself in his cross and death for our sins so that we might be justified and forgiven by faith alone in his word.
