  1. We often focus on Christ’s obedience unto death. Here, the focus is on Christ’s obedience unto Incarnation.
  2. God has you surrounded (in a good way). You have nothing to fear. Your heart and mind can be at rest.
  3. The joy and thanksgiving for God’s work in and through the Philippians makes this text an opportunity to express your pride and love for your congregation.
  4. Our waiting and longing for Christ’s return teaches us to long for real relationship with other believers, even when that relationship must be sustained at a distance.
  5. When Jesus assumes the body prepared for Him to do God’s will, the end of an old era has arrived, and with it, the beginning of a new.
  6. Even though they have reasons to fear, the peace of God that transcends all other reasons now guards, patrols, and garrisons their hearts and minds.
  7. God is in control, and we are actively engaged in God’s work of saving the world.
  8. Preaching on this text isnan invitation to express love and longing in your relationship with your hearers.
