  1. God created mankind to be His bride and now, in Christ Jesus, the Church of God is the bride of Christ.
  2. This Epiphany text brings the coming of the Light and the Light shining in the darkness drawing all men to it together.
  3. Solomon uses his new gift of wisdom immediately, but as he grows older he appears to use this gift less and less!
  4. All the redeeming in God’s Word ultimately points to the first-born, only Begotten, who redeems the world.
  5. This Messiah is not a continuation—He is the fulfillment and the beginning of something new.
  6. Waiting is not easy, but after waiting a long time, one would at least expect us to be ready when the time came.
  7. The Messenger is coming—must come—because the LORD God has promised, and He is unchanging and always faithful no matter how unfaithful His people may be.
  8. In Christ, all things are new. This is also true in so far as His three-fold office of prophet, priest, and king.
  9. The Israelites had taken the Covenantal promise and the language of separation and interpreted them to mean the message of salvation and restoration was meant for only them. But this is counter to the reality of the Scriptures.
  10. This text arguably contains the clearest teaching concerning the bodily resurrection from the dead in the Old Testament.
  11. This is an extremely important chapter and it speaks to the motif of DEATH and RESURRECTION in a powerful way.
  12. The LORD your God is one—He is your LORD. Therefore, you may/can/shall live as His child, and this is what that looks like!
