Church Seasons (1081)
  1. Explore the traditions of Palm Sunday with Cindy and her kids during our week of preparation before Easter! The Journey of Jesus begins today when he triumphantly rides into Jerusalem and it takes him straight to the cross. Have this conversation with your family as we walk closer to the great resurrection celebration!
  2. In the midst of our grief and sorrow, there are times when words fail us. When they do, we know that God has given us words that will never fail us. He’s graciously given us his words of hope and comfort from the Psalms.
  3. It is safe to say that Easter this year will be unlike any Easter we have ever seen.
  4. The only point in being a Christian at all is if this message of the resurrected Jesus continues to be the solid ground on which you stand.
  5. This restoration is understood as a resurrection—restoration/return to the Land is equated with the resurrection to the courts of Heaven.
  6. .A prayerful and meditative vigil in expectation of Christ’s return at Easter became a common feature of the celebration of His crucifixion and resurrection.
  7. Grace is about God’s choice when we cannot by our own reason or strength choose Christ or come to Him.
  8. Luther sees in the Lord’s Supper the most concentrated form of the Gospel[5] because in it the death of Christ is proclaimed and the benefits of that saving death are bestowed in His body and blood given us to eat and drink.
  9. This text is chosen for Maundy Thursday and involves eating and drinking with God—in His presence, real presence. This is only possible with the shedding of blood.
  10. Our God-given faith, despite our lack of sight, has made us sons and daughters of light who walk in the light even during dark times.
  11. Look to the crucifix. There you see God as God is, in Himself. You see God in action for you.
  12. In this text, Isaiah is quite explicit and reflects the suffering and disgrace this Servant will suffer as He faithfully does the will of God.
