Easter Sunday (45)
  1. It is safe to say that Easter this year will be unlike any Easter we have ever seen.
  2. The only point in being a Christian at all is if this message of the resurrected Jesus continues to be the solid ground on which you stand.
  3. This restoration is understood as a resurrection—restoration/return to the Land is equated with the resurrection to the courts of Heaven.
  4. The devil is to be taken seriously, but we should also not give him more credit or more power than he has after being defanged by Christ’s resurrection.
  5. As I sit here on Easter Sunday, the light is coming into my living room. My dog is sitting sweetly in my lap, enjoy the light scratches on her ear and getting in my face as to stop me from writing.
  6. In Luke 24:1-12 we don’t get a carefully constructed theology of the resurrection. The evangelist doesn’t work out all the implications of Easter for our life and faith. He doesn’t offer a logical argument for why we should believe Jesus rose physically from the dead. Instead, he simply describes what happened.
  7. Well, it is springtime! Just as you can always expect flowers to begin blooming, the days getting a little longer and everyone’s mood getting a little brighter, there’s something else you can always expect this time of the year.
  8. On this night of nights, Christ arises victorious and sends the devil’s hordes running with no darkness to find cover; death’s dark shadow is gone
