Epiphany (24)
  1. We now are the magi: we worship Christ because of who he is, but also because of what he has done for us and what he continues to do in his gift-giving to us.
  2. Preach the whole story, the whole macro narrative through the themes of Epiphany: light, illumination, baptism, enlightenment and divine glorification through Jesus Christ.
  3. Woe to Paul if he did not because he would be missing out on the love of Christ and, by extension, love for his fellow man.
  4. This Spirit of love permits no Christian to exercise their freedom at the expense of another Christian still troubled by old associations.
  5. We still live in the hope of His coming, though many generations have come and gone in that hope. Why, though, does it make any difference?
  6. Ever Heard of Candlemas?
  7. Sin has had its teeth wrenched out. Since Christ was raised from death, that ugly monster has no power over us.
  8. Epiphany—is for the Gentiles, those who were once not God’s people, but who now, by the grace of God in Christ have become the people of God
  9. The Corinthians were making mud pies, playing with imaginary friends, and blindly following know-it-alls who were leading them into theological and moral pitfalls.
  10. Let us not recoil at the sight and sound of the crucifixion. It is the battlefield of victory. It is the throne of the King. It is the symbol of salvation.
  11. Christianity is not principally about ethics. It was the Cross on the Hill rather than the Sermon on the Mount which produced the impact of Christianity upon the world.
  12. The Church becomes anti-church when the new world order Christ inaugurated by eliminating demographic division through the commonality of Baptism is exploded by allegiance to cults of personality.
