  2. Hope doesn’t bury its head in the sand but stares, open-eyed, into the truth of this life’s worst horror, and says, “I know the God who went through something even worse, and came out on top.
  3. As I was reading Romans 7 today, I was reminded of a pivotal scene in one of my favorite movies, As Good As it Gets.
  4. God goes to work on us through His Word like a woodcarver chisels a block of wood.
  5. “We all partake of the one cup, the cup of blessing which we bless. This is not seen as a bunch of different cups, but as one cup, the same cup that Jesus blessed at the Last Supper.”
  6. “Putting hope in the cross of Christ means putting hope outside of anything – mentally, physically or even spiritually – you do.”
  7. The Sixth Sense is a suspenseful and scary movie where a little boy is born with the strange gift of seeing dead people.
  8. "Are you Republican or Democrat?” “Liberal or conservative?” “Yankees or Red Sox?” “Star Wars or Star Trek?”
  9. The love of God in Jesus is our confidence when the world seems to teeter on the brink of self-destruction.
  10. For every child in a mother’s womb, the whole host of heaven and earth, indeed God himself, intercedes.
