Martin Luther (362)
  1. Jesus is taking the Law and setting it forth in such a way that we get a good look at what is going on in us.
  2. "You shall not commit adultery." Caleb and Dr. Paulson talk about the importance of marriage, the place and purpose of sex, and how the family is the central matter at the heart of the six commandments.
  3. Dr. Paulson covers the 5th commandment, "You shall not murder."
  4. God did not rend the heavens and come down to collect the righteous for Himself. He came from a lineage of sinners to be their Savior.
  5. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain.
  6. Caleb and Dr. Paulson continue to discuss the explanation of the First Commandment.
  7. If we take the article of justification out of the center, very soon we will not know why we are evangelical Christians or should remain so.-Hans J. Iwand
  8. Luther actually expected the Catechism to be taught in the home.
  9. God is placing us in new situations. His unchanging and utterly reliable Word provides our only anchor.
  10. Attempting to escape the errors of medieval Catholic thinking, Agricola ended up making the same mistake of conflating law and gospel.
  11. Charles V, for all his power, his lands, and his riches, was ultimately unable to hinder the spread of the precious Gospel.
  12. You can call me any day or night. Call me! In this episode, we read Martin Luther’s verbosely titled treatise, “That a Christian Assembly or Congregation has the Right and Power to Judge all Teaching and to Call, Appoint, and Dismiss Teachers, Established and Proven by Scripture." We discuss ordination, church authority, the doctrine of the pastoral call, and much more.
