Ministry of the Church (22)
  1. In a world where sermons can be downloaded from any church at the touch of a button, it's easy to follow "celebrity pastors" pastors who are outside your denomination, pastors who don't even know you.
  2. In a culture that talks about making everything bigger, better, stronger, and more streamlined, it's easy for the church to get sucked into that discussion. As we think about that discussion, we wanted to give a down home look at what is the purpose or function of the church?
  3. This is the second installment in our series profiling women in the Bible (Who are not named Ruth or Esther). Both the stories of Ruth and Esther are beautiful, gracious, and profound. We love reading and rereading them. However, in an attempt to bring attention to more stories of more women throughout the Scriptures, we choose now to shift our focus.
  4. Questions of our purpose and significance as a church abound with fewer and fewer people in the pews.
  5. In this episode, Gretchen and Katie tackle a question from a listener about baptism. What do we believe? What does it mean? What does it do?
  6. We are answering some more listener questions this week, and both questions we answer today revolve around discontent with the church.
  7. Oftentimes when we are serving in ministry, we brainstorm outreach and growth. But what does growth look like when you live in a rural setting? What does growth look like when things remain small?
  8. What is it mean to be blessed? What does it mean to bless others? In this episode, we talk about the power of words, and the power of the gospel given through words.
  9. Regardless of my experience, my talents, or even my mood, it’s these gifts of Christ that I have to give away. They are all I have, and they are everything.
  10. In this episode, Katie and Gretchen talk about how law and gospel distinctions affect relationships we have at church and in ministry.
