Parables (127)
  1. Have you ever seen a mustard seed? If you have, you know it’s pretty tiny. When deciding how to describe the kingdom to us, Jesus purposely used the smallest known seed at the time.
  2. We don’t love little because we have little that requires forgiveness.
  3. Nobody is going to crash Jesus’ wedding feast. Jesus is throwing the only party in town worth attending, and it’s going to be a celebration.
  4. Jesus says that none of our goodness is good enough to pass muster. Likewise, none of our badness is bad enough to propel us outside Jesus’ death for sin.
  5. The first course is always humble pie because, at the table, there are just two seats: from humiliation to exaltation.
  6. This is a live episode of 30 Minutes in the New Testament recorded at Mabel Murphys in Fergus Falls Minnesota.
  7. Exemplified here are two misunderstandings about the forgiveness and graciousness of God among some Christians.
  8. The Thinking Fellows discuss the importance of exegesis and the parables with their guest Daniel Price.
  9. Daniel and Erick discus what is probably the most famous parable concerning the final judgment, the sheep and the goats.
  10. The last few episodes Daniel and Erick have talked about tribulation and the end of all things.
  11. Jesus tells a Parable about a master calling workers into His vineyard. What is the point here? How is "begrudging God His generosity" a problem for all of us?
  12. The cross presents us a radically different standard. In God’s justice executed in the cross of Christ, nobody gets what they deserve.
