  1. We love those who enable us to see our love for ourselves reflected back at us.
  2. A new life in Christ Jesus is our hope. Not only that, Jesus is our access to God.
  3. Humility kills pride. So “humble yourself before the Lord,” as James writes (Jas 4:10). Kill your pride before it kills the things you love. Subdue it before it gets you into the kind of trouble that may even kill you. Conquer your pride before it defeats you. It’s that simple, but we all know it’s not that easy.

  5. So long as we entrust death to Jesus, new life is ours. He has lunch ready and he is waiting for us in the power of his resurrection.
  6. Jesus is a heroic warrior that not even hell can defeat.
  7. Our scars are a reminder that salvation is all gift.
  8. Rather than validate our selfish, self-serving choices, he justifies us by giving us new life and baptizing us into his death and resurrection.
  9. Jesus doesn’t talk about God’s love for us; he embodies it.
  10. We confuse our success and failures with God’s judgment of us.
  11. We are so free as Christians that we don't even have to compare ourselves to other Christians.
  12. Pain is our birthright, but Jesus’ resurrection is our irrevocable end.
