Promises of God (21)
  1. Zipporah and Moses were bound by blood. More than that, God and Moses were bound by blood.
  2. The promise of Advent is the promise of the lamb slain, who is born and given for us so that we don’t have to fear sin, death, and hell.
  3. Advent is the season when the Church declares to a world overwhelmed by excuses, lies, and cruelty that their Savior comes.
  4. Often, when we talk about the Old Testament, we talk about God's promises and work for his chosen people, Israel.
  5. Whenever I read the Genesis account of Abraham, I’m more impressed that he’s often a clumsy, mess of a man than that it’s “faith that’s accounted to him as righteousness.”
  6. Blessedness comes to us camouflaged as simple earthly words, water, bread and wine.
  7. The promise is trustworthy because God has proven Himself to be trustworthy.
  8. We were created by our heavenly Father to receive all things from Him as free gift.
  9. We can leave all the stuff of life behind, because our great treasure God flaunts before the world on Calvary.
