  1. The veil was not torn to let us in but to let God out.
  2. The law demands love, and love has no limits, no end, it is never done.
  3. We are no longer controlled by sin as He moves our lips to speak love and forgiveness. We are passive as He acts out His words and His salvation for us.
  4. As sinful humans, we are adept at taking what God gives as gift and making it into a work. Nowhere is this made more evident than in the universally misunderstood doctrine of sanctification.
  5. Repentance is not a call to improve. It is a call to die.
  6. We are dangerously good at focusing on our exciting, or boring, walk of faith.
  7. The words “gift of righteousness” will bring about two completely polar opposite feelings: One of Dread. One of Relief.
  8. Growing up, I dreaded the first Sunday of each quarter. Every time during the evening service, we would have Lord’s Supper after the sermon.
  9. When I was about 10, I went on a hike with a boys brigade. We were all racing down this path at lunchtime when I decided to beat everyone to the bottom by deviating from the path.
  10. My parents will be the first to tell you, I can really put my foot in my mouth. I often don’t say the right thing.
  11. Jesus is the "because" and "therefore" of our salvation because He died for our sin
  12. There is a mirror that we Christians look into with daily repentance.
