Work of Christ (118)
  1. When it comes to confessing the truth of the Christian faith, Christians are given the words. We don’t have to formulate them ourselves.
  2. We hold fast to Christ Jesus where He’s most God, most Savior, for us: in His gifts of word, water, bread, and wine.
  3. As every nail that Jesus hammered was a delight to his Father, so every email you send, every purchase you ring up, every table you wipe down, is a delight to the Father.
  4. When we think God is doing something for us here or there or everywhere, we are simply fixing labels and putting value on what we imagine God is doing for us.
  5. The veil was not torn to let us in but to let God out.
  6. When we focus on God's self-giving Word, when we turn our attention to Golgotha, we are shown a wholly different way of viewing the Commandments.
  7. The following is an excerpt from Chad Bird’s new book, Your God Is Too Glorious: Finding God in the Most Unexpected Places (Baker Book, 2018).
  8. When I was a boy, I wanted to be a trashman. Little did I know that I would grow up to need a God who was a trashman.
  9. Jesus tears down every “but” that people try to build between us and God. He died and rose for us, and—not but—He makes Himself our Lord and Savior.
  10. Not afraid, Jesus decided to take a different mode of transportation across the rough waters—his feet.
  11. What do we do when Christians are more focused on their doing for God than God's doing for them?
  12. The real Jesus isn’t trapped inside a church’s ATM. He’s smack dab in front of you, grinning from ear to ear, laughing and loving you with a crazy grace that already filled your bank account with millions.
