1. Mike and Wade are joined in the studio by Dr. Rebecca Parker Fedewa, who is an English professor at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Dr. Parker Fedewa's dissertation focused on Elizabeth Gaskell, so the guys figured she couldn't say "no" if they asked her on to discuss Gaskell....and they were right (but just barely).
  2. Mike and Wade sit down in Wade's backyard once again, this time to discuss Saints (and many of the different ways we use that term). They are joined for the Free-for-All by Sophia (Wade's youngest daughter) to discuss favorite Bible characters.
  3. Mike once again finds his way over to Wade's backyard, this time to discuss the riveting topic of syllabi. They are joined in the backyard by Wade's second oldest son, Ziggy, who joins them for part of the main topic, but seems more interested in the Free-for-All discussion of the upcoming College Football and NFL seasons.
  4. Mike finds his way over to Wade's backyard, to discuss the beauty of the Church with Wade and two of Wade's daughters. Before getting to the main topic, the Johnston girls discuss their summer and what they're excited for with the upcoming school year (and Mike says something too).
  5. Mike is joined for the first time in a long time by Wade (it's not clear how Mike feels about this). The two sit down in the middle of summer 2019 to discuss the importance of reading widely for both the laity and for pastors.
  6. Welcome to Let the Bird Fly! a podcast about living freely in a world given back to us.
  7. This time around Mike sits down with Dr. Braun to discuss the history of Lutheranism in America.
  8. On this episode Wade and Dr. Keith square off over two influential characters in the early Reformation: Philip Melanchthon and Matthias Flacius Illyricus.
  9. Rev. John Bortulin comes on the show to discuss preaching at funerals.
  10. Wade and Mike sit down in the studio to discuss Philip K. Dick’s article How to Build a Universe That Doesn’t Fall Apart Two Days Later.
  11. On episode ONE HUNDRED (they finally did it) of Let the Bird Fly! the guys sit down (sans Ben despite their best efforts to get him there) to discuss the commencement address This is Water by David Foster Wallace.
  12. Wade and Mike sit down to discuss the often forgotten celebration of the second week of Easter.
