Church Seasons (1081)
  1. The Holy Spirit is sent, not to talk about himself, but to point us to Jesus.
  2. Does Isaiah find himself in the Holy of Holies in the Jerusalem Temple, or is this taking place in the Heavenly Temple? Perhaps we might say the answer is “Yes.”
  3. The Apostle Peter’s monumental sermon on Pentecost declares the Kingdom purposes and divine saving work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit which culminates in the new world order with Christ in charge.
  4. Trinity Sunday is a day we confess the mystery of our faith. It is a mystery that saves.
  5. Pentecost reminds us of not only what happened on that day described in Acts 2 but what is happening every day: the Spirit of God working in and through God’s people, according to his word.
  6. If the Risen Christ is ushering in a new kingdom and a new creation, then maybe we shouldn’t be surprised to see some earth-shaking and mind-blowing things taking place.
  7. There is no life when one is separated from the Promised Land because that will be the place where God will send His Messiah.
  8. Pentecost is the event which jolts the world into taking note that something entirely new is taking place.
  9. Somedays we are simply looking for a mark, a rock at the foot of a tree, something to direct us forward, a few words to let us know we are going in the right direction.
  10. We confess the ascension of Christ every Sunday in the words of the both the Apostles’ and the Nicene Creed.
  11. Israel is all the people who believe in the LORD and gather at His throne. It is no longer a national distinction, it is one of faith.
  12. This Psalm identifies who the people of the Covenant are, and who they are not, and orientates them in relationship to the LORD God.
