  1. There is comfort and joy that while one is now at rest from his labors, the Lord of the church continues to ensure that the good seed is sown, watered, and cared for.
  2. Nothing stands against you. Only Christ stands now, and he is for you, more for you than you could ever know, for you like nothing else that has ever loved you.
  3. What the gospel promises is not escape from our humanity, but resurrection from the dead.
  4. Salutary funeral preaching seeks to set the life of the baptized believer who has died within the life of Christ incarnate, crucified, risen, and reigning.
  5. I want the beginning of my funeral to be focused on Jesus, as well as the middle, the end, and every point in between.
  6. Who we are buried with matters. But there is no need to go out and find a dead prophet so you can join him six feet under.
  7. You can die now, you can let go, and because that is true, you can begin to live!
  8. Christians do have a hope that those who sleep in death will be awakened and their joy will never end, and we yearn for that day.
  9. Herod fulfills his promise so that Jesus can fulfill His; John decreases, Jesus increases.
  10. Just like in the previous interview, I had to rewind to make sure I was hearing all this right. Yeah, that's actually what he said.
  11. When sin comes out of the shadows and makes itself known, Christians can rest in and declare Christ's resurrection.
  12. We do not have to endure the pain and suffering of this fallen existence forever, just for a little while.
