Paul speaks out of deep passion and great love for the salvation of all people, especially those bound to his ethnic heritage. Here we have Paul the evangelist. Paul is compelled by the love of Christ.
Jesus called Peter to be a fisher of men so more people would be caught up in God’s gracious love through Jesus. But Peter needs to remember he is also one who needs to be caught-up in the same grace.
They are not loved because of their value, rather their value comes only from His gracious declaration of who they are to Him. Israel’s character had nothing to do with God’s choice or declaration.
