Pentecost (627)
  1. Through Christ, we have the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit rather than the limited pouring out we see with Moses in the book of Numbers.
  2. Jesus is revealed not as some aloof, indifferent hero, but as the One who sympathizes with the sick, the hound of Heaven who chases after the wandering, the One who would salve with the oil of righteousness, and the Savior who would cover with His robe of righteousness.
  3. The Kingdom and reign of God in Jesus is marked by lowliness, by humility, by the setting aside of one’s rights, by laying down one’s life, by dying, and specifically, by Jesus dying.
  4. Even if you have to die and go down into the grave, God will raise you again because His Word for you is true
  5. Humility, embodied in Christ, and translated to the bodies of His people in His body, is well worth a meditation this week.
  6. Even in the ignorance and arrogance of the disciples, Jesus is choosing to go to the cross for them.
