1. Forty men make an oath not to eat until they kill Paul and put together a plan to carry it out. The Tribune won’t go along with the plot and instead sends Paul to the Governor.
  2. Paul asks to speak to his accusers and recounts the events that led him there. He says some amazing things about baptism but when he includes God sending him to the Gentiles, the crowd freaks out.
  3. On this episode we wrap up season 1 with the Rev. Sarah Condon who is coming to us from Houston (right after Hurricane Harvey in 2017) by way of the American South. Condon talks about some dark times, a hopeful doctrine, and has plenty of stories to illustrate this last doctrine of the Creed. Debi and Dan spend a little bit of time in this episode reflecting on the first season of the show.
  4. On episode 6 we heard from Dr. Mike Horton on the resurrection of Jesus and the hope it gives us. On this episode, our good friend from Mockingbird ministries, Dave Zahl, helped us think through the final resurrection, our human flesh and the Gospel truths that this clause has to teach us.
  5. Paul is headed out, but there seems to be some contradictions concerning whether God wants him to go or not. How do we deal with these texts?
  6. Paul wants to deliver an offering to the Jewish church. He sends Timothy to the church in Corinth with a letter as a riot breaks out due to the complaints of an idol maker.
  7. We are introduced to Apollos. He is a good preacher who needs a certain part of his theology tweaked.
  8. Paul and Silas are singing in prison when an earthquake opens all the doors. A jailer wants to kill himself but ends up baptizing his family instead.
  9. Paul and Barnabas separate in a dispute over John Mark. Timothy is introduced and for some reason Paul has him circumcised.
  10. The early church battles legalism as the Gentiles are brought in. A council is formed and Peter takes a stand.
  11. Paul and Barnabas continue preaching and while the message is spreading, so is the persecution.
  12. On episode SIXTY-EIGHT of Let the Bird Fly! Wade and Mike get together once again in Wade’s backyard, but this time to discuss Eschatology, or the “last things.”
