1. David finally found the truth that it was not his seed of kingship but the promise made to Abraham that made him holy. From that, David refused to be moved and wrote this Psalm by the necessity of the Spirit as the assurance of faith. The law never made a man holy, not even one as robust as David; yet faith did this great thing without lifting a finger.
  2. Sinners get faith as a gift when Christ takes their captivity captive.
  3. The certainty of faith is utter assurance because it depends upon nothing of your own. It is entirely trusting that God is a propitious, pardoning God—the God who justifies sinners by forgiving them.
  4. David shows us what happens to a man when his resurrection begins.
  5. God makes us pure saints by planting us back in the earth we imagined we needed to escape.
